Advertising on this site

Everyone hates banner adverts. Everyone hates 'popup' adverts more. But, have you wondered why so many sites use them? It is simply because they work - if used correctly. Having 5 banner adverts and a popup advert on a single page will lose visitors and slow down loading. Also, having a banner advert at the top of the page which sticks out like a sore thumb is going to be ignored. So how do you get people to click on your advert?
